"What does it matter that we're black?"
25 August, 2009 (Or Kashti) -
"What does it matter that we're
black?" asked Beza Waldahi, who
is trying to enroll his son at the
school. Waldahi's family
immigrated to Israel three years
ago, and last month moved to
Mevasseret Zion.
"The kids always ask what will happen, and why they don't have a
school. I don't know what to tell them. In a few years they'll go to the
army," he said. "We're like everyone else in Israel - this is our school,
our city, our country." More

citizenship may even be revoked - not to mention
the difficulties they will have getting married in the future...." More

Today the total number of people relocated stands at 100,000. Two years ago, Israel promised that a final group would be relocated before the end of 2007. That deadline expired, leaving many in areas like Gonder and also around the Israeli embassy complex in Addis Ababa. 9 July, 2009 (DAILY KOS) - ".... That they have
to be more humane. I wish that were true. The
countervailing theory, that they are simply
perpetuating a cycle of violence, I think may have
a germ of truth, but it's a racial judgment that
probably only applies to European Jews and their
descendants. I am not sure about this; I don't
know if Ethiopian Jews feel that in their guts the
same way Polish Jews do, but I doubt it. ...More
