Ethiopians led a sea of peaceful protesters at
the G20 summit in Toronto
26 June, 2010 (Ethio Quest News) - A very courageous and
enthusiastic Ethiopians were at a forefront of the biggest peaceful
protest of the G20 summit in Toronto, Canada on Saturday
afternoon.
















The participants who came from across Canada and the U.S. began
to gather at Queen's Park in early hours and persevered the pouring
    rain while waiting to
    join the much larger
    crowd of various
    organizations, among
    them the Canadian
    Union of Public
    Employees,
    Canadian Federation
    of Students, United
    Steels Workers,
    Ontario Nurses
    Association, Oxfam,
as well as from local Iranian, Palestinian, Sirilankan Tamil,
Vietnamese Communities.

As an Ethiopian this reporter is always fascinated by our collective
instinct, to abide by law even if the law is not in our favour, and to
be courteous and respectful toward other communities.

Despite our disagreeable
individual political outlook,
when it comes to orderly
conduct, Ethiopian
community at large
deserves the recognition
of its exemplary
behaviour.
